About

Sarah K. Weber received her Master’s in Counseling and School Counseling from Siena Heights University in 2009. Sarah utilizes a therapeutic model that incorporates Person Centered therapy, Applied Behavior Analysis principles and work anchored in the therapeutic alliance between the client and counselor. She uses many different types of therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques and Motivational Interviewing among other evidenced based practices. 

Areas of Focus

She engaged in post graduate training in Sandtray and Play therapies. Sarah specializes in in working with women’s issues, post-partum concerns and those related to reproductive complications and infant loss. She has particular interest working with depressive disorders, survivors of abuse and trauma, grief and loss, anxiety disorders, domestic and sexual violence, LGBTQIA issues, human sexuality and substance abuse. With children and teenagers, she has demonstrated effectiveness in parent education, adjustment disorders and familial and relationship issues. Other areas of continued focus for Sarah include neuropsychology, attachment issues and non- medication interventions for ADHD. Sarah has been working with children and families in the Jackson Community for over twenty years with a broad range of experience. Sarah is a member of the National Association for Play Therapy and the Michigan Association of Play Therapy.
